When I check a book out of the library, it has to be freaking amazing. I'm not about to waste my time reading a rubbish book written by a kindergartener. This book had better be damned gold if I'm going to take the chance of losing it somewhere and paying for it later. So, I always read the first sentence, then a sentence from the middle, then the last. If the font isn't annoying and the pages smell like book rather than cat piss, I'll check it out.
